The Star of “The Green Mile” Is No More

 
Michael Clarke Duncan, hugely popular for his best performance by an actor in a supporting role in “The Green Mile” is reportedly declared dead. He was hospitalized in July 13, 2012 followed by a heart attack. He breathed his last at Los Angeles at the age of 54. 

The actor was suffering from myocardial infraction which could not be recovered fully.

Michael Clarke Duncan, a Chicago based American actor, came into prominence because of the catching performance in Frank Darabont directed, 1999 hit movie, “The Green Mile”. The movie was responded positively by the critics across the globe, qualifying Duncan for the nomination of Academy Awards for his supporting role. His role in the movie as John Coffey impressed Forbes commentator, Dawn Mendez so much that he referred the character as a “Magic Negro”.

Apart from “The Green Mile”, Duncan also gave notable performance in Daredevil, Armageddon, Planet of the Apes, The Scorpion King, Sin City and others.

Duncan's hulk-sized physique (6”5 Inches, weigh 142 kg) was the possible attribution behind his successful entry into jobs as bouncer at many Chicago clubs. He worked as ditches digger for the People's Gas Company. He also got stage name, Black Caesar because of his job as a stripper.
