AGNEEPATH MOVIE REVIEW

‘WO TERA BHAI HAIN!”

The dialogue came as a sentimental blow to my heart. The scene was Vijay Dinanath Chauhan’s (played by Hrithik) sister is manhandled publicly by Rishi Kapoor (in negative shade), and brother Hrithik came to her rescue like violent storm obliterating every goons hampering his way to Rishi to rescue sister. When the flash-pointed Vijay is busy in thrashing goons, sister is informed by mom that Hrithik is her brother. The scene was quite electrifying.

Agneepath, to my perspective, is one of the most engrossing movies that should be nestled along with other “must-watch” movies of yours. Sometimes, gore and relentless violence grotesquely conveys Vijay’s vendetta on his patricide, Sunjay Dutt (as don Kancha), but honestly, the movie doesn’t seem to be a victim of aberration from its main theme/plot. I have not watched first sequence of Agneepath but this one really rocks and is electrifying. Protagonist’s scintillating performance, especially kudos to Sanjay Dutt and Hrithik, has brought characters into life, delighting audiences with awe-inspiring gasps. Everyone has justified with their given role and big thanks go to Sanju and Hrithik who seem to have enlivened their character roles to audience’s expectation. For the first time, Hrithik sounded so serious and violent after Fiza (plays as a mentally disturbed guy).

Sanju, beyond any doubt, rocks in negative shade as kancha who dreams spreading triad gangs in entire part of Mumbai. Priyanka, contrary to her sexy image, played simple yet eye-catching role through bold performance. Rishi superbly justified his negative shade and it was quite surprising to see him so ruthlessly sadistic in many scenes especially the one portraying his abusiveness on Vijay’s sister.

The story germinates its seed from a remotely situated village of Mumbai, Khandwa where Dina Nath Chauhan (Vijay's father) as a teacher has good image in village and is involved running a salt factory with contribution of all villagers. Dramatically, kancha appears, scares villagers despotically and frames Dina Nath into rape charge of a minor girl. The furious villagers with kancha lynched him onto a banyan tree while his house is set on fire forcing his son and pregnant wife to run for life. Later, the duo landed in suburban area of a city where Vijay’s mother gives birth to a baby girl. Meanwhile, situation dramatically takes nasty turns where Vijay (now young dashing lad and beau of Priyanka) finds himself as an eyesore to police department and his own mother (who renounces him for his vengefulness).

Eventually, the story takes many suspenseful ups and downs whereby Vijay, after many schematic plots lethal actions and genociding makes his way to kancha, lynches him on the same banyan tree which witnessed his father’s brutal murder in front of villagers. Thus, Vijay avenges his father’s murder on kancha and sleeps in the lap of death, leaving a chain of emotional reactions to audiences (me too).

In essence, Agneepath is well acted thrilling and action packed movie infusing audiences with absolute delighting message of “gravity of being powerful”. Agneepath is really a “must watch” for people with a knack for understanding movie by heart.
