After
a long span of time do we witness a bit cinematic glorification of mother and
this particular clip/scene of the movie, PHATA
POSTER NIKLA HERO, has been the centre of attraction (for me). Considering my
self-affinity and regard for my mom, I have understandably gone through a
pleasing experience of watching those scenes where mother is praised, mollified
and shown obedience for her command. Otherwise, the entire story of the movie
is just below the average – the same
lousy story, brainless comedy, fed-up actions and whatever you call
it, the film is not impressive.
The Plot –
The
storyline of the movie revolves around Vishwas
Rao (Shahid Kapoor) who dreams to be a super hero against his rickshaw
driver mother (Padmini Kolhapure) whom
she wants to be a super cop instead. Her mother envisages Vishwas Rao to be a
complete resemblance of honest, candid, truthful and duty-bound police officer
until her figment of imagination almost bears fruit when the son lands in
Mumbai, becomes a movie-cop and dramatically handles cop-jobs like beating up
the goons, protecting the long-suppressed citizens from bad boys, and he GETS THE GIRL!!
As
expected, the climax turns out to be a ridiculous twist whereby Shahid meets
his “presumed dead” father as a villain, gets him handcuffed, and finally gets
himself rewarded a cop badge for his
daredevilry in helping cops to bust criminal gangs.
IS THE MOVIE WATCHABLE?
If
you are a hardcore fan of Shahid and have been waiting for his new release
after a long time, then go and watch the movie to quench your thirst. Otherwise
I do not want to mince my words in saying that the movie is another shit placed
on a silver plate {except the part glorifying mother (I just love it)}.
PERFORMANCE OF THE
CASTS
Not
much impressive as everyone acted the way they were supposed to be. The cameo
appearance of Salman Khan does lend certain
ounce of engaging watch. The same case (perhaps) with Nargis Fakhri in an item song (not sure I am as I’d skipped the song).
WHAT DOES MOVIE FOCUS
ON?
To
me, the movie focuses on being a total comedy
family entertainment as well as a bit adoration
of mother. It is because the lousy storyline that the movie fails to
impress. Moreover, a close watch will give you an impression that most plots of
the movie resemble with those prevalent in the movies of 1970’s. To some extent, it resembles with Ajab Prem Ki Gajab
Kahani.
