India sternly
rejected Pakistan’s claims that Surjeet Singh, an alleged RAW agent of Indian Intelligence Agency, was sent for espionage to its soil.
Surjeet Singh, who has just been released from Pakistan’s prison cell, was dubbed as “undercover from Indian run Intelligence Agency” – a claim faced downright denial from Indian Union Home Secretary, Raj Kumar Singh. He rubbished the accusation as "absolutely wrong", stressing that India never spies on other countries neither sends undercover agents to foreign lands.

His statement came
in reply to a question from media persons about whether or not Indian intelligence
agency (RAW) sent Surjeet Singh for espionage on Pakistan. He also said that the
accusation on him (Surjeet Singh) was possibly meant to serve vested interest of Pakistan.
