Arguably
one of the most influential positive thinkers in the world, Norman
Vincent Peale inherited the tremendous wisdom so much so that his
quotations have the “action-provoking” elements to the readers.
As myself being a great admirer of the person who also authored “The
power of positive thinking”, I feel delighted to present some of
his highly and positively influential quotations. They are my
favorite ones...
“Change
your thoughts, and you change your world”
I
admire this thought of Peale so much so that it has brought forth
significant change to my outlook towards myself. Until I came to know
Mr. Peale's thought, I was just a thinker regardless of realizing
that my thought had a vital connection to the kind of result (brought
forth) in my life. This simple yet powerful thought is contributory
of mine changing opinion on myself as I am now realized with the
concept of thoughts being the powerful link to life's making
beautiful or ugly event.
“Believe
in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but
reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or
happy.”
Another
great lesson to learn from the great thinker, Mr. Peale. I don't
think I should elaborate myself further to lend the gravity of
importance to this already important quotation. What I can say is, if
you truly want success in your life, have a reasonable amount of
self-confidence.
“Our
happiness depends on the habit of mind we cultivate. So practice
happy thinking every day. Cultivate the merry heart, develop the
happiness habit, and life will become a continual feast.”
When
I read this quotation, I was all pensive for a while. I was uselessly
on the quest to find happiness until I came across this thought. What
it says is quite a simplified version of finding happiness than what
we conventionally think upon. Means, happiness sources from the
attitude/thought cultivated by the Mind.
I can relate this to what
revered Lincoln said once, “Most people are about as happy as they
make up their minds to be.”
The
essence is, the weak mind generates agony while the positively strong
mind generates happiness.
“Become
a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or actually
are, raise your sights and see possibilities -- always see them, for
they're always there.”
My
all time favorite quotation from Mr Peale. Its tremendously
enlightening. Deftly stated that how becoming possibilitarian
(believing nothing is impossible) unlocks the door to happiness in
your life. This quotation is powerfully inspiring beyond words.
Other
quotations of Mr. Peale that I love very much...
“The
trouble with most of us is that we'd rather be ruined by praise than
saved by criticism.”
“Optimism,
when applied to your life, develops strength and peace within you.”
“A
vital part of the happiness formula is self-discipline. Whoever
conquers himself knows deep happiness that fills the heart with joy.”
“People
become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can
do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret
of success.”
“People
who make no mistakes lack boldness and the spirit of adventure. They
are the brakes on the wheels of progress.
